ZombVR Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026
This policy explains what information ZombVR ("the game"), made by Boss Trash studios, handles when you play it on Meta Quest headsets and how it is used.
Summary
- ZombVR has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no in-app purchases.
- We do not sell, rent or share your personal information.
- Single-player works fully offline. Online co-op only exchanges the minimum data needed to connect players and let them talk.
Information stored on your headset
The game saves its settings in a local file on your device: language, comfort and audio options, the display name you choose, your friends list and a random player ID generated on first launch. This ID is not linked to your Meta account, name, email or device identifiers. This data never leaves your headset except as described below, and it is deleted when you uninstall the game.
Online co-op
When you choose to play online:
- Display name and player ID. Your chosen display name, random player ID and room status (for example, the room code you host or join) are shared through a real-time presence channel so other players can see public rooms and online friends. This presence information is temporary: it is removed when you leave online play or close the game. It is not stored in a database.
- Voice chat. If voice chat is on, your microphone audio is sent directly to the other players in your room (peer-to-peer) while you play together. We do not record, store or analyze voice audio. You can mute your microphone or turn voice chat off in the game settings. The game asks for microphone permission only for this feature.
- IP address. To connect players directly, your device's network address is exchanged with the other players in your room and with public STUN servers (operated by Google) that help devices find each other. We do not log or keep IP addresses.
Service providers
- Supabase (supabase.com) relays the temporary presence and connection messages described above and hosts static image files that the game may download to decorate in-world screens. These files are fixed images; downloading them sends no personal information beyond the standard network request.
- Google STUN servers help establish peer-to-peer connections.
- Meta Platforms distributes the game through the Meta Horizon Store. Meta's own handling of your data is covered by Meta's privacy policy.
These providers process network traffic only to deliver their service.
Children
ZombVR is intended for players aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used online features, contact us and we will help remove any related information.
Your choices
- Play offline to share nothing.
- Mute or disable voice chat and remove friends at any time in the game.
- Create private rooms, which are left out of the public room list.
- Rename your default display name once in the game.
- Uninstall the game to delete all locally stored data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update it on this page and change the "Last updated" date.
